This company grows, processes and distributes chickens for the wholesale market, and has two plants in southern Kentucky. One plant, located in rural Clinton County, Kentucky near Albany, is primarily a meat processing plant. The second, in Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky is both a hatchery and feed processing plant. Our first series of professional services for Cagle's/Keystone began with the facility in Franklin. We performed an as-built survey of the existing mezzanine level, the foundation pads of the processing plant and the distillation equipment of the buildings' former occupant, the Kentucky Agricultural Energy Alcohol plant. When the hatchery was proposed, DDS ENGINEERING, PLLC was hired to provide all necessary legal and field research, office calculations, aerial photography and control, boundary line surveys, topographic surveys, corner monumentation, and plat preparation for both boundary and topographic surveys for the 185 acre site. Site Expansion at the Clinton County processing plant took us there for aerial photography, legal research and field reconnaissance, boundary line surveys, and corner monumentation, legal descriptions and topographic mapping of adjoining 460 acres of property they hoped to acquire. We also provided field location and computer data base updates of the locations of monitoring wells and other environmental monitoring facilities. When Cagle's/Keystone Foods was ready to pursue plant expansion in Clinton County, we prepared all the necessary surveying and site Civil Engineering drawings and documentation for the 275,000 square foot processing plant and three out-buildings totaling 25,000 square feet, and a 1,000 space parking lot. These drawings included topographic surveys, site design, grading and drainage calculations, plans, and storm water management plans, details and specifications. We included pre-engineering for a 120,000 square foot building which is a planned future phase expansion and we designed the roadway entrance, including plans, profiles and cross sections to tie their entrance into Kentucky Highway 90. DDS ENGINEERING, PLLC performed all constructing staking for the 150 acres of disturbed land on site. In all, over one and one half million cubic yards were relocated in this project. We have recently completed boundary line and topographic surveys of an additional 175 acres.
